South Devon Turf operate one of the most technical advanced turf farms in the UK. Our equipment includes bespoke machines built in house and around the world, GPS guided tractors, a turf monitoring drone along with a fully automatic turf harvesting machine.

Our turf is grown using the best quality seed which we buy direct from the seed producer, This enables us to see the certification of cleanliness to make sure we don't grow the grasses that we don't want. We prepare a perfect seed bed with the Blecavator stone burrier powered by a 200hp New Holland tractor. The seed is then sown with the latest spec Blec turfmaker.

We mow our turf with 2 Kesmac 11 gang mowers, each of which is 25 ft wide. We also use a 20 ft wide Trimax rotary roller mower and the collect the cuttings with 2 huge Trilo grass vacuum's.

Our turf is regularly fertilised to maintain its health, root structure and vigour. We use a variety of liquid applied treatments to ensure the turf is free or weeds, pests and disease.

Our turf harvester steers itself while cutting perfect turf, rolling and stacking them, then automatically lowering the full pallet of up to 84 m2 and injecting an empty pallet all while it continues to harvest. This technology allows one operator to carefully monitor the turf while harvesting and it cuts the turf in a fraction of the time of older hand stack machines.
